Health professionals use a variety of social media platforms which include LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X. In the rapidly evolving social media environment, practice trends shift and can quickly become outdated. This module will focus on Twitter/X, recognizing the principles of social media engagement transfer across social media platforms. X (formerly "Twitter") is a popular social media platform which has a robust community of medical professionals, including trainees, practitioners, researchers, and other groups including patients, health economists, journalists, and the lay public at large. It is a powerful tool for health professionals to accelerate their professional goals across a range of domains. Twitter/X can be used by health professionals for their own education, to find, analyze, and discuss new research and educational content. Additionally, health professionals can use Twitter/X to amplify their own educational, research, and advocacy work, build their professional network, and expand the reach of their professional portfolio.
