Welcome to the MacEssentials Tutor Training Modules!
This learning module contains the following subunits: Units 1 and 2 will provide you with an overview to your role as a PBL tutor; then we will share some key readings about the PBL tutor and group process. Following completion of Units 1 and 2, you will receive a certificate of completion for your records or for your program’s documentation requirements.
Units 3 and 4 are for tutors in the Undergraduate Medical Education program. These units will cover the PBL Final assessment process as well as a primer on tutoring in a virtual PBL environment. Following completion of all four units in this module, UGME tutors will be directed to the program office to arrange a tutorial observation experience.

This EDI-IR course allows you to acquire a broad understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion and Indigenous Reconciliation (EDI-IR) concepts as well as explore a number of topics more fully through tasks to help you contextualize them to your own work. Throughout this material, you will be asked not only to explore foundational EDI-IR concepts but also to reflect upon how these concepts apply to your personal and professional self-identity.

Over the course of four modules, you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the following:
- The domains of applied qualitative health research;
- The utility of qualitative findings in evidence-informed decision-making;
- How to identify problems or issues grounded in health care practice, education, or policy that can be explored through qualitative methods;
- Practical approaches for designing and conducting qualitative studies. These include how to develop an answerable research question, how to estimate a sample size, how to develop a comprehensive data generation (collection) strategy, and one approach to generating policy/practice-ready findings using a team-based, rapid approach to analysis.
The course registration is facilitated by the Continuing Professional Development Office.

The iAM Human: Conversation eXchange is a teaching and learning platform. This platform involves a series of activities where the aim is to provide opportunities for learning and reflection about ageing, intersectionality, and cultural humility.
